Washington, DC— Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) voted in favor of the FY24 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Related Agencies appropriations bill and the committee’s revised 302(b) allocations, both of which passed out of committee.

Congressman Womack said, “Farmers and ranchers feed our nation and fuel our economy. I’m glad my colleagues and I passed the Agriculture, Rural Development, and FDA bill, which supports our food supply chain in Arkansas’ Third and pulls back the Biden Administration’s green agenda and federal overreach so our producers on the ground can effectively do their job.On June 15 another step toward regular order, responsibly funding the government, and advancing conservative priorities.”

This Agriculture Appropriations Bill provides a non-defense discretionary total of $25.564 billion for programs under the jurisdiction of the Subcommittee. The Subcommittee’s allocation is $17.838 billion, and the bill utilizes recissions to re-direct spending from Democrats’ wasteful Green New Deal priorities to agencies and programs that protect our nation’s food and drug supply; support America’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities; and ensure low-income Americans have access to nutrition programs. The revised 302(b) allocations reflect a commitment from House Republican Appropriators to responsibly fund the federal government and protect American taxpayers. Under these allocations, the total FY24 discretionary budget authority will be $1.47 trillion.

Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3) has represented Arkansas’s Third Congressional District since 2011. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee.
